Oprah and Acai Berry Consequences

We found this article interesting ... discussing the global effects of a segment on Oprah.  This is the power that Oprah holds in creating economic ripples of national economies half a world a way.  Simply amazing.

It also speaks to the importance of Acai in some poorer countries.  Business always finds a way to meet the supply scale demanded by it's products ... but this initial spike in interest and demand is causing problems.

Wow.  Powerful show.  I'm really not sure what else I can say.

Free Lunch on Oprah!!!

Who said there's no such thing as a free lunch?!  Certainly not Oprah!

Follow the link below to download a coupon for a free grilled chicken lunch from KFC ...

And then go out and enjoy!

UPDATE (5/7/09) ...

Well, it seems like quite a few people are having a hard time redeeming these coupons.  Stores are literally denying their use and validity!  Here's a classic example of making sure you have all of your "ducks in a row" before blasting a campaign of this size.

Backfire?  It's looking like it just might be.

If you were one of the lucky ones that was able to get your free lunch ... and eat it too ... congratulations!

All A Twitter

Did you watch Oprah last week when she had Ashton Kutcher "visit" the show and talk about twitter?  If not, that's too bad ... it was a good show and twitter really is becoming a pretty big deal.

The point and purpose of the site is to "follow" others and to generate a list of "followers" for yourself.  This then allows you to keep in touch with these people through the twitter site ... or you can link your IM (Instant Messaging) tools and cell phone to the lists and keep up while on the go ... pretty cool!

And just like Ashton ... there are a number of other celebrities and well known figures you can keep tabs on ... also pretty cool!  Check out weFollow.com for more interesting people to follow.
